Dammit, I'm in a predicament. I am suppose to start work tomorrow, but I have been called by another employer for an interview. This other job would be working on tractors as a mechanic. I found out from Cam yesterday, that starting next Monday the plant is on lay-off for two weeks. Now, it doesn't make much sense to me to work three days this week then go on lay-off. Then today, Cam tells me that assembly line D is starting a second shift and that the employees with the lowest seniority will go to the night shift.(that would be me) With our family life Cam and I have to work the same shift. Working different shifts really isn't an option for us, especially with our youngest son. The only real drawback to me working at this other job is that I would be driving an extra twenty miles each day. In all honesty, I would probably prefer the job as tractor mechanic. Well, I'll just do the interview and see what happens.

I have come ro a final decision about my employment situation. I have decided to stay at the ATV and snowmobile factory. On Wednesday, I found out that I was going to be working on the same assembly line as Cam. So, we will have the same work schedule. I did, however, go to the tractor repair shop to discuss the job opening with the owner. After some time considering my option, I decided that with fuel prices as they are and with my back surgery last year that I should stay at the factory.
So far, I have done three different jobs on the line. Right now I prefer the job I did yesterday. I was installing the clutch assembly on the engine and gear box. Since I have an extensive mechanical backgroud, this job will be fairly easy for me to do.
