This whole thing with my back is very frustrating. I can't do much at all. Lifting anything bigger than can of Coke is out of the question. I get chewed out by Cam before I do anything, because she doesn't want me to be stupid and try to lift anything at all. Work is very difficult due to the fact that I can't lift. I used to lift 100 pound hay bales and the is definitely out of the question now. I go back to the neurosurgeon tomorrow and will find out what type of lifting restriction I will have. I still expect to be restricted for quite awhile. The worst thing is that sitting for long periods of time are hard on me. So, playing FFXI is difficult.

I got a real scare the other night after sitting in my chair for a time. My back was sore as it tends to get after a long day. I reached back to rub the area around my scar and discovered a large raised area. I had Cam look at it and she told me that I had swelling in the area. The swelled area was about three inches in length extending to the right from my scar. Since it was late I just decided to lay on the floor and to call the doctor the next morning. Well, after laying on the floor for a short period of time, the swelling went away. I figure it was fluid built up from when I was in the dentist's chair for about an hour earlier in the day. While in the dentist's chair my legs were raised above my the rest of my body for the entire time. I haven't had any swelling since that night, but I do check my back regularly everyday.

Just wanted to give a little update on this. I realize that I have mentioned this in the LS recently, but I know that not everyone was on when I mentioned this.
This past Wednesday, I went to the neurosurgeon for my three month post-op check. I am healing quite nicely and have been upgraded to be allowed to lift forty pounds now instead of twenty. There are still some minor concerns, but they aren't going to hinder my recovery. I have to return to the doctor in one month.
I am still trying to get myself a new job, that doesn't require so much heavy labor. I am hoping that I can find something soon.
